Obituary:
Dorothy Thurman, 85, of Ukiah, went home to be with her savoir surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 25th, 2010. Dorothy was born in Slocan City, BC, Canada on November 8th, 1924. Her husband, Alfred Thurman, her parents, Ambro and Pearl Bossom, and her daughter in law, Dawn Thurman preceded her in death. Dorothy was a blessing and touched many lives in the 85 years that we were lucky to have her on this earth and will be dearly missed. Heaven is truly blessed to have her home. She had a true love of life and was always happy and smiling. She especially loved spending time with family, going to Ukiah Senior Center's Adult Day Health and attending The River Church. She spent many years working as a Nanny for many Ukiah area families, lovingly caring for many children who dearly loved their Grandma Dorothy. A devoted mother, she is survived by her children Mary Ellen & Ben Chadwick, Joe Thurman, Charles Thurman and George Bossom of Ukiah; Bob Thurman of Lakeport; and James & Teresa Thurman of Murrieta; along with numerous grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Baby. Viewing will be held at Eversole Mortuary on Tuesday, March 2nd from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be at Russian River Cemetery on Wednesday, March 3rd at 11:00 AM with a potluck memorial service to follow at 12 Noon at Ukiah Senior Center.
