Lavern Ethel Todd age 80 passed away surrounded by family January 10, 2019. She was born July 6, 1938 on the Jones Farm in Todd County, Minnesota. An only child to Harlan and Ethel Jones. She spent the first 8 years of her life in Minnesota. When she then moved to Ukiah, CA in the rumble seat of a model A. At a young age she married Everette Evans and was blessed with 4 beautiful children. In 1972 she married the Love of her life Bert Todd where she gained two step daughters. They spent over 30 years together before Bert passed. During this time, they started their family business Todd and Kelsey Logging in Point Arena CA. They enjoyed watching their children, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren grow and spending weekends and summers in Lake Port with their family and friends. She spent the last 5 years of her life in Fort Bragg.
She was a very outgoing, ambitious, woman. She was always down to take on life and its many adventures. She retired from the Mendocino School District. However, in her lifetime she held numerous jobs such as: hostess, travel agent, Avon representative, a wine steward, administer for the convalescent hospital, secretary to numerous businesses and organizations just to name a few.
She loved to travel, especially her yearly family vacations to Mexico. She also took a lot of pride in community and involving herself as much as possible. One of her favorite memories was when she went to Hawaii with her soroptimist group and she got to drive a cherry red convertible mustang.
She was an incredible woman who was always there to listen, never judge and make you feel loved. All that were lucky enough to know her would agree she was an exceptional woman who will be missed dearly.
