Obituary:
Aldo Tollini passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2014, at 92 years of age. Aldo was born February 1, 1922 in Willits and lived his entire life in Mendocino County. A hard worker, Aldo worked with his hands his entire life, both in the woods when he was young and later in the family's vineyard. He worked in the vineyard daily into his 80s. He loved playing sports when he was young, especially baseball, and loved watching sports as he got older. He lived a long, happy life and was loved by his family and friends. Aldo was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. His wife never knew how many people she would feed at dinner because Aldo would run into friends in town and invite them over. He was happiest sitting at the head of a long table for a big holiday dinner. Everyone who sat at that table became family. He also adopted numerous stray dogs and cats who were lucky enough to find their way to his house. Aldo was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret (Mickey), son Charlie, sister Josephine and grandson AJ. He is survived by daughter Betty Johnston; son Aldo David Tollini (Laurie); "adopted" sons Cory Elmore and Chris Aggi; grandchildren David Johnston (Grace), Michelle Johnston (Scott), Charlie Tollini (Cherie), Tim Tollini (Kami) and Alonzo Tollini; and a wonderful collection of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who loved their Papa. There will be a graveside service to celebrate Aldo's life at the Russian River Ceremony, 940 Low Gap Rd., Ukiah on Thursday, June 12th at 11:00am.
