Obituary:
Joseph A. Toste, 85, of Eureka, California, passed away on September 25, 2016 in Ukiah.
A closed casket viewing will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Eversole Mortuary from 5 7 p.m.
No funeral will be held at Josephs request.
Joseph Anthony Toste was born in Eureka, California to Antonio M. Toste and Velamina K. Toste on October 24, 1930. Joe went to school at Saint Bernards High School in Eureka. He married Vesta Katherine Reasoner on October 5, 1959 in Reno, Nevada. Joseph worked for the County of Mendocino for 37 years and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in both the Army and Air Force. Joseph was also one of the original founders and president of the Samoa Drag strip in 1948 and a member of the Raker and Block Busters car clubs in the early 1950s.
His wife Vesta Toste precedes him in death.
Joseph is survived by his sons Joseph Toste Jr, Tony and Terry Toste, daughter-in-laws Anita and Jessica Toste, grandchildren Bonnie Miller, Seana Bell, Seth Barnett, Emilia Toste, Madeline Pool, Deven Pool great grandchildren Kiana Miller, Shelbi Miller, Cody Bivin, Anika Brown, Kameron Brown, Khasara Bell, William Barnett, Jory Barnett and Guage Barnett.
The family of Joseph Toste wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Hospice of Ukiah, Saint Marys of the Angels Church, Sacrament provider Valerie Pearce with special thanks to care providers Seana Bell, Jacqueline Blunt, Ingrid Martin, and Crystal Stasinski, and Hospice nurse Dennis Porter for all of their support to Joseph and the family.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers that donation be made in Josephs name to Hospice of Ukiah or the Alzheimer Association.
