Obituary:
David Ernest Turner, died in Ukiah on Friday June 25, 2010 at a local hospital with family by his side. Born in Livermore, David was 67 and had lived in Ukiah for 36 years. He had an AA in Business Administration and was a Business Manager. He was proud of being a veteran, having served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965 and was also proud of being a Christian, being a member of the Calvary Way Pentecostal Church of God and was proud of his family. David was Past President of the Mendocino County Striped Bass Association, which showed his love of fishing and he loved to support his church. His favorite quote was I will be the game warden in heaven.
David is survived by his wife Tia Turner of Ukiah, his daughter Tracy Turner of Ukiah, sons Michael Withrow of Ukiah, David Turner II of Victorville, Shawn Turner of Texas, sister-in-law Cindy Eastwood and husband Bill, brother-in-law Gary Withrow and wife Beverly, mother-in-law Anna Withrow. David is also survived by his grandchildren Francesca, Kaylie, Brooke, Brice, Eric and Kat and several nieces and nephews, 1 great-grandchild. Preceding David in death were his mother Minnie Holliday, step-father Ed Holliday, brother Ronnie Turner and nephew Craig Turner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at the Calvary Way Church on Tollini Lane beginning at 10 am with burial to follow at the Ukiah Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, GA 94010 or American Kidney Foundation, 131 Steuart St, suite 520, San Francisco, CA 94105 . Davids family would like to thank the staff of UVMC, Sutter Hospital of Santa Rosa and Ukiah Health Center. Also, a special thanks to Davita Dialysis staff in Ukiah.
