Lois M. Wallis lost her long courageous battle with Cancer on September 17, 2011. She passed away in her home with her loving husband and family by her side. She is survived by her husband Robert Cecil Wallis, her daughter Marsha Harrison (Joel), her sons Robert Cecil Wallis Jr. (Kara) and Richard Wallis, her grandchildren Brandon Harrison, Katie Taylor (Bryan), Robert Cecil Wallis III and Michelle Wallis. She is also survived by her great granddaughter Kaylah Harrison.
Lois was born in San Francisco and moved to Mendocino County at the age of 13. She worked for Pacific Bell as a Customer Service Representative for 20 years until her retirement. She and her husband opened the Oaks Cafe in Yorkville, and later went into full retirement. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and Alaska. In between their travels one of her greatest joys was cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Eversole Mortuary on Thursday, September 22 at 11:00 A.M, with her burial following at the Ukiah Cemetery. A potluck gathering will be held immediately afterwards in Redwood Valley.
