Obituary:
Dr. William Bill Waring passed away at his home in Ukiah on Thursday, July 14, 2016 after a brief illness. He was 87 years old. Bill is survived by his daughters Cindy Brewer (husband Gary) and Tina Mitchell, and son Jeff (wife Karen); grandchildren Josh and Doug Mitchell, Alexandra Britton, Rachel Brewer and Andi Mori; great grandchildren Weston and Jocelyn Britton. Bill was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh for both his bachelor and medical school degrees. He completed his medical training in San Francisco where he met his beloved Rosie. Rosie and Bill were wed in Pittsburgh in 1954. The couple eventually settled in Ukiah in 1959. Ukiah would become the place they called home for more than 5 decades. It was here that Bill established a medical practice in the field of pediatrics, raised his loving family with wife Rosie, actively served the community as a school board member and teacher, forged lifelong friendships with colleagues and members of the community, grew pistachios, and advocated and practiced healthful living. His steady and consistent manner permeated all aspects of his life. His sense of fairness and honesty were remarkable. His presence will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Bills life will be celebrated at Barra of Mendocino Event Center in Calpella on August 28, 2016 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friends and acquaintances are welcome to join his family in commemorating a life well lived.
