Obituary for Rose Wiles
June 19, 1924-Nov. 6, 2017
Rose was born at Navarro, CA to Charles Sampietro and Lena Catherina Rossotti. She married the love of her life Glenn Murray Wiles on June 19th, 1942 and graduated from Ukiah High School in June of 1943. After high school she started a career with Montgomery Wards and Co. which lasted for the next 51 years.
Rose and Glenn had two children: Glenda Lee born July 18, 1948 and Carvet Murray born Jan. 2, 1950. Mother always told us that she ordered us from the catalog dept. at Monkey Wards and when she tried to return us, they told her that she had to keep us.
After retirement she was able to visit serval countries and loved to travel. She also spent many of her retirement years as a volunteer for the Salvation Army Store and later the Ukiah Senior Store. Mom just couldnt seem to not work.
In Oct. 0f 2011 she moved from her home in Ukiah to Mountain View assisted living in Ukiah and spent the next few years there until an injury required more care. So in December of 2017 she moved to Holy Child Residential Care Home in Ukiah, where she resided until her peaceful passing in the early morning hours of Nov. 6, 2017.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Glenn (1980), her daughter Glenda (2007), her brother George SanPietro, her sister Doris Scacchi and husband Walter, and brother Louis Sampietro and wife Cicilia.
Rose is survived by her son Carvet and (wife Nyota) Wiles of Redwood Valley, CA. and numerus nieces and nephews.
A Church Service will be held Nov 9th at Faith Lutheran Church, 560 Park Blvd. Ukiah, CA at 11:00 A.M. with a light lunch to follow.
