Obituary:
Williams, Mildred Helen, 92, passed away peacefully February 3, 2014, born August 31, 1921 in Selma, California and grew up in Santa Cruz. She graduated from Santa Cruz High School at the of age 15, and from San Jose City College in 1958. In the 1950s, Mildred served as President of the San Francisco Peninsula Chapter of the Business Professional Women’s Club. In 1941 she married Donald Stone and had 3 children, Michael Stone (Kathleen), Nehemiah Stone (Elizabeth), and Lucinda Stone (Mike), and raised them in San Jose. In 1960, she married Kerwyn (Kay) Williams and had two additional children, Skip Williams (Nanci) and Peggy Williams. She and her family moved to Fort Bragg in 1967, where she was active in a wide range of groups: the local Grange, the Friends of the Library, Ruby Thimble, a Genealogical Society, and others. Mildred kept the book keeping for several businesses in and around Ft. Bragg. Mildred leaves behind her 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents Baxter and Lucy (Sharp) Thompson, her husband Kay Williams, and her brother Richard Thompson of Washington State. Memorial services will be held in Fort Bragg where she leaves many friends (date TBA). A special thanks to the Santos family and staff at Holy Child Care Home and to Dr. Andy Coren for all their love and compassionate care.
