Obituary:
Grace Zwicky passed away Monday December 9, 2013 in her home of Ukiah CA, following complications of a long and brave battle with Scleroderma. Grace was born Grace Marie Torres in Ft. Collins Colorado, and raised in the Bay Area amongst sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In 1969 Grace relocated to Ukiah and began a life for her family. While residing in Ukiah she was an active member in the business community, as the owner of Ukiah Beauty College, the president of the Ukiah Chamber of Commerce, a Soroptimist Ambassador, President and Committee member of the Miss Mendocino Scholarship Pageant, President of Ukiah Area Republican Women, and California Republican Women Regional Director.
As the owner of Ukiah Beauty College she had touched thousands of lives helping them reach their dreams or offered a stepping stone towards their success. It will be hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
Grace leaves behind her husband Louis Zwicky of 42 years & children Cheryl Lillie, Donnie Meek II, Suzanne Linker, Honey Ruppel, Matt Zwicky & Sierra Zwicky, Mike Zwicky & Cyndi Zwicky, Conner Zwicky, Kathy Cole & Steve Cole. Grandchildren Don Meek, III, Dallas Latos & Mat Latos, Chris Zwicky & Necole Zwicky, Cherie Meek, Blake Meek & Tiffany Meek, James Zwicky, Douglas Quinones, Brad Dunham, Shae Lillie, John Meek, Grace Meek, great grandchildren Katelynn & Jackson, her sister Valarie Baca and cousin Vivian & Hank Garcia, and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed as she has been an inspiration to many of us for her strong courage and energy.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, care providers and first responders who have had a part in Graces care over the years. You have chosen a noble field and are very much appreciated.
Those who wish to bid Grace Good-bye and pay their respects are most welcome at Eversole Mortuary on Sunday December 15th 10:00 am.
A celebration of Graces life will follow the services at the Travel Lodge Banquet room located at 1720 North State St. here in Ukiah for those wishing to share their stories
